Steps to Selling Your Home or Property

1. Know how Real Estate Agents represent the Buyer or Seller. Review the Real Estate Brokerage Relationship Brochure.

3. Prepare your property for the market.

**Be sure to also get your Agent's opinion on any needed changes to your property before it goes on the market.

4. Call or E-mail the Agent you selected and schedule a "Seller Counseling Interview" with that Agent and do the following:

Over the phone or at the "Seller Counseling Interview"

  • Tell the Agent why you are selling.
  • Tell the Agent how soon you need to move or sell the property.
  • Tell the Agent what you plan to do when we get a Buyer for your property.
  • Tell the Agent what you plan to do when you receive the proceeds from the sale. Buying another property? Investment? Tax Deferred Exchange?
  • Tell the Agent your other motivations and objectives for selling.

5. As the Agent to present you his/her marketing plan for your property.

6. Commit to list your property with an Agent and sign a Listing Agreement, fill out a Seller's Disclosure and other paperwork provided by the Agent, or Select another one of our Agents to interview.

7. Give the Agent you selected a tour of your property and help the Agent get accurate measurements and square footage of your property.

8. Schedule another appointment with the Agent in order for that Agent to prepare and present to you a Comparative Market Analysis (CMA) for your property. This is an "X-Ray" of the property in which the Agent uses our data to price your property based upon our database of active, pending or SOLD, and expired properties.

9. Determine a price in the middle of the recommended price range based upon today's market.

10. Give the Agent a key or access to the property, fill out the remaining paperwork and let the Agent do the work from there!
